Located at the end of Dickey Flat Rd, off Kennedy Rd and Waitawheta Rd, it is a popular campsite in the summer, with swimming holes and trout fishing spots easily accessible. The campsite is just a short walk from the main carpark, making this a good base, especially if you are visiting in the summer holidays, on on a weekend, when the main carpark is likely to be full. The gorge itself is spectacular, the frothing Ohinemuri River snaking between towering walls of jagged rock crowned by trees and sunlight, but there’s a lot more to it.
