The marker in Amalga was placed there around 2001 by the Utah Crossroads Chapter of the Oregon-California Trails Association. Mile markers placed incrementally along a trail can significantly enhance the trail experience. There are trail signs that confirm you are on the CRHF, and there are also mile markers in both directions for most of the trail. I like to think it was. Location.
